Tunnel repair and stabilization in Horta de Sant Joan

Project Description

The works are placed in the false tunnel of the T-330 road in Horta de Sant Joan, Catalonia. It is 90,72 m long and its structure is a foundation slab with 2 reinforced concrete walls, on them are placed the tunnel vault formed by prefabricated concrete and circular modules. These modules form an isostatic vault that contains the ground, which reach more than 9 m above the keystone.

After the damage detected in an inspection it was built a structural reinforcement formed by: more than 300 cement grout injections, reinforcement of concrete walls and 56 girders formed by structural steel.

Before the works traffic had to be diverted through an old 450 m road, it was conditioned. Finally, the provisional road was demolished and environmental integrated.
