Quinto viaduct

Project description

The Quinto viaduct crosses over the railway and was built in 1986 to eliminate the level crossing. The following tasks have been carried out in the repair and rehabilitation of the viaduct:

– Reinforcement of the piers: The lintels of the piers were reinforced with a steel structure placed below. In order to transfer the forces to the new structure the lintel was lifted using hydraulic jacks.

– Concrete repair: The lintel was superficially repaired and existing cracks were injected. During the works, the cracks movements were monitored.

– Deck finishes: The existing pavement and sidewalks were cut using concrete wire sawing and disc sawing. The deck was waterproofed and new parapets were installed.
