Project description
As a result of the strong waves caused by the Ciaran storm on 2/11/2023, damage was caused to the structures of the Nueva Mar Bella beach in Barcelona and the wall bordering the promenade collapsed.
ENGINYERIA REVENTÓS is carrying out the emergency action that includes the construction of a mass concrete esplanade wall, the reconstruction of the promenade pavement and the placement of a closing railing and the regeneration of the beach with the contribution of sand (an estimated contribution of 30,000 m3 is needed to restore that beach area and the protection of the promenade).
Typology: Reconstruction of a mixed section wall, a sloping breakwater and a vertical reinforced concrete wall, of the promenade and beach regeneration.
Wall length: 100.0 m.
Breakwater: 100 to 400 kg in filter layer and 4 to 6 tons in protection layer.
Rehabilitation: Reconstruction of the promenade pavement and placement of a closing railing.
Beach regeneration: Contribution of 26,400 m3 of sand.
